Welcome
Individuals. Families. Couples. Groups.
Asking for help takes a lot of courage. Our goal is to make therapy a place where you are able to harness that courage, strengthen it, and use it to reach your own goals. We believe that therapy should be a collaborative process, with you sharing your needs and allowing your therapist to reflect back to you patterns of behavior that get in the way of you living the life that you want. We strive to create a warm, nurturing, and sometimes even fun environment where you begin to feel comfortable leaning into and learning from emotional experiences.
Our areas of expertise include eating disorders, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, attachment disorders, and family discord. We use a combination of therapeutic approaches with an emphasis on emotion focused therapy, experiential therapies, and family systems theory.
Our Approach
Our Services
-
We help individuals explore why they are behaving in certain ways and help ensure that their behaviors are in line with their values. In individual therapy, the change occurs through the relationship with the therapist. As this relationship develops we are able to uncover new ways of thinking and being.
During the initial individual therapy session, we learn about why you are seeking therapy and work with you to develop a treatment plan that meets your goals.
-
Family therapy allows a space for family members to come together to identify troubling family dynamics and find more effective ways to engage with each other.
Family therapy can involve whoever is considered family and with as many or as few family members as necessary.
-
We are not currently offering any group therapies but if you have a need for a group please contact us and we can either provide referrals or help put that group together for you.
-
Lisa Luse and Jessica Payne are board approved social work supervisors in the state of Maryland. Please reach out for more information.

FAQ

Our services qualify for patient reimbursement under most insurance plans. However, due to our commitment to confidentiality, we do not participate with any health insurance panels.
Depending on your health coverage, most plans allow you to apply for reimbursement using the billing statement we provide you with through our client portal. We are considered an “out-of-network provider.” Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please check your coverage carefully by calling an insurance representative prior to your first appointment and asking the following questions:
Do I have mental health insurance benefits for outpatient psychotherapy?
What is my deductible and has it been met?
How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
What is the coverage amount per therapy session for an out-of-network provider?
-
Initial sessions are always a little different than ongoing therapy session because we need to start to establish a relationship. The majority of the session will be spent with your therapist asking you, and anyone that you want to include, questions about your life. what brought you to therapy, and what you want to work on. Feel free to come with questions for your therapist as well. We believe that therapy is a collaborative process and want you to feel as comfortable as possible with your therapist.
